Dr Judith Bruce-Golding

Dr Judith Bruce-Golding is a Senior Teaching Fellow on the Education Mental Health Practitioner’s Programme at the University of Southampton.
She completed her Doctorate in Education and Leadership in 2018, which focused on England’s headship crisis, leadership and the career trajectories of Deputy and Assistant Headteachers.
Dr Judith recently completed her MSc in Psychology. Her dissertation explored ‘Suicide literacy of educators in England: Assessing suicide risk and examining the effect of suicide stigma and self-compassion on suicide literacy.
Dr Judith has experience working across all key stages in mainstream and special education.
She has also worked in alternative education settings with young people that were facing permanent school exclusion. Dr Judith is interested in autism, deaf culture and lived experiences.
She co-founded the creative community project Nakuona which means ‘I See You’ (Swahili). Dr Judith is a Mental Health First Aid Trainer and a Suicide First Aid Associate Tutor.
